JOB SUMMARY

 

Participate in all assigned activities related to the planning, coordination, execution and reporting of all test initiatives required to validate software applications.  Team responsibilities will include: Provide testing baseline and LOE’s, all levels of testing, as determined by project needs to include warranty and post release support.  Work closely with the project team to prepare and execute test plans and test cases/scripts, track test data, identify expected results and log/facilitate bug resolutions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute and validate medium to complex projects performed through independent validation and verification of various IT systems.
  2. Understanding and ability to support project delivery of Waterfall and Agile projects.
  3. General comprehension of the software testing process and methodology from Unit Testing through User Acceptance to include:  Functional/Manual, System and Integration, Regression, Automation, Load and Performance and Stress testing.
  4. Identify, document, and communicate all issues discovered during test case creation and test execution.
  5. Solid knowledge of SQL with the ability to query, data mine and validate.
  6. Participate in requirements sessions / review technical documentation to confirm consistency with program operations.  Comprehend and contribute to high level requirements and designs through Waterfall or Agile grooming sessions.
  7. Skilled at developing test-effort estimates (Level of Effort) and assessing the results of each test cycle ensuring it was performed according to the test case/scripts.
  8. Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of team; generate and propose solutions.
  9. Understand and apply company standards, methodology, processes, and procedures.  Participate in the development of standards, tools, methodologies, processes, and procedures across the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in computer information systems or related area.
  2. Requires two (2) to five (5) years relevant experience.
  3. Familiarity with various other tools such as Jira and TestRail.
  4. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies.
  5. Proficient in creating test plans and scenarios supporting an Agile methodology performing both manual and automated testing. 
  6. Proven ability to own the QA role throughout all projects by: gathering requirements, writing and executing tests (manual and automatic), monitoring test progress, reporting status, logging defects, tracking and testing defect fixes, retesting and signing off on code quality.
  7. Maintain subject matter expertise for the systems under test and use that expertise to create, maintain and extend the test case library.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to develop test-effort estimates (levels of effort) for projects.
  2. Automation testing experience a plus.
  3. Agile experience a plus
  4. Familiarity with API and Services validation
  5. UI/Front end testing experience
  6. Device testing experience
  7. Understanding of complex systems and how all the components connect

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
