JOB SUMMARY

 

The Linehaul Manager will manage and coordinate the activates of the Linehaul Supervisors and department. Manage Linehaul Supervisors performance and training to maximize effective utilization of resources and to ensure customer satisfaction. Ultimately responsible for Linehaul functions and management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Communicate the status of Linehaul operations to upper management and relay information to department heads.
  2. Analyze projections from end of line terminals in order to oversee the planning of route
  3. Manage work assignments, monitor performance and provide training on duties, policies and procedures.
  4. Communicate clear performance expectations to ensure high-performance work environment and proactively provide specific, balanced and timely coaching/feedback to reinforce and encourage high performance and promote a culture of teamwork.
  5. Communicate company safety program enforces safety rules and compliance with all government regulations. Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  6. Manage supervisory responsibilities such as; hiring, training, performance appraisal, and employee development.
  7. Utilize work method programs for training and education to motivate employees to improve performance and quality of work.
  8. Maintain knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and manage working relationship with union business agent.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background or work experience.
  2. Five (5) years of experience in the linehaul department.
  3. Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  4. Effective organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  5. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  6. Demonstrated Leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  7. Must be flexible, willing to work any schedule, including weekends and holidays, in all types of weather

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related area.
  2. Knowledge of local applicable collective bargaining agreements.
  3. Knowledge of company policy, procedures and applicable collective bargaining agreements

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Continually speaking and hearing, giving and receiving directions. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
