The Finance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Manager – IT Finance with varying financial processes. Team duties include processing purchase orders and invoices, communicating with vendors, as well as other clerical and administrative activities specific to the finance function. Check documents for accuracy and completeness, maintaining files, collecting data and preparing periodic standardized reports. Work is performed under immediate supervision. Specific areas of knowledge include accounting, communications, software asset management; accounts payable and contracts.


  1. Collects and maintains accurate information in company databases to address budgeting, compliance & inventory, contracts and costs.
  2. Work with vendors to secure accurate and timely quotes and invoices.
  3. Create and process purchase orders.
  4. Validate and process invoices with proper documentation and approvals.
  5. Provides support and documentation during audits.
  6. Work with management to meet compliance standards on contracts.
  7. Answer internal and vendor questions
  8. Research and determine resolutions to invoice issues.  
  9. Identify system errors and review work procedures for improvement.
  10. Ad-hoc reports and documentation to support the multifaceted IT Finance team.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 0-2 years related experience.
  3. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  5. Experience navigating and maintaining database systems.



  1. Two (2) years of experience in the transportation industry or Finance.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background or work experience.




This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.




The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying of 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
