JOB SUMMARY

 

Coordinate the consolidation and movement of expedited shipments to meet service commitments. Collaborate with Area management to ensure expedited shipments have visibility, priority and the required resources to meet customer expectations. Provide alternative solutions to mitigate customer impact when shipments are not able to meet expected timelines. Be a key Area liaison for Sales, Customer Service, Linehaul and Field Operations to ensure a coordinated effort is made within the Area to meet service commitments, respond to special requests, and ensure timely follow up is given to internal and external customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with dock, operations and linehaul to coordinate the consolidation and movement of expedited shipments to meet service commitments.
  2. Daily monitoring of expedited shipments and their status against targets and service schedules to identify shipments in need of corrective action and communicate appropriately.
  3. Implement corrections action plans to ensure timely delivery of expedites shipments.
  4. Provide daily reports of expected shipments.
  5. Evaluate and recommend changes to load plans, service standards and processes that improve service and reliability
  6. Coordinate and monitor the release of expedited projects.
  7. Review expedited shipment failures charged to your area of responsibility, request reversals if warranted and identify opportunities to eliminate future failures.
  8. Coach and train dock and linehaul personally on expedited processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Transportation industry experience.
  3. Proven ability to think critically, analytically and problem solve.
  4. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  6. Positions in CDO (Central Dispatch Office) must be able to work nights and weekends.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Two (2) years’ experience in operations or linehaul.
  2. Some college or equivalent training.
  3. Complete knowledge and understanding of network operations.
  4. Experience working in logistics.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
