Responsible for ensuring the technical direction of applications and solutions both within and across infrastructure silos that are strongly aligned with the business strategy.  This role collaborates with Architecture Team Members and Infrastructure Engineering to develop solutions to complex business needs and deliver, implement, and train operations teams on the solutions.  Role has skills and experience across at least one of the main areas of infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Network, Cloud or Security).



  1. Develop road maps describing evolution of infrastructure technologies from current to future state
  2. Collaborate as part of a team with the gathering of requirements and technology selection process across multiple infrastructure lanes.
  3. Work with project managers to coordinate the successful execution of project activities.  Assist and develop project presentation.  Present project presentation to technical groups.
  4. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  5. Document work and implementation standards/processes/procedures for the broader work group.
  6. Advanced knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to technology solutions.
  7. Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management, and experience providing tasks, milestones and time estimation within project plans.
  8. Perform analysis of current environment to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement; recommend solutions and collaborate with infrastructure engineers to develop processes to implement changes.
  9. Assist with strategy/roadmap and identify and recommend new technology solutions to meet business needs.
  10. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  11. Actively participates in and assists with vendor contract negotiations for areas of technology expertise.
  12. Ensure solutions fit strategically in the overall infrastructure architecture and meet existing technology, application and business standards.
  13. Provide highest tier level of support.
  14. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  15. Work complex incidents, performs troubleshooting and administers repairs.   Drive team to meet team Service Level Agreements.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related subject or equivalent experience.
  2. Six (6) years’ experience within IT Infrastructure.
  3. Four (4) years’ experience in both design and operations of Cloud systems and/or Information Security.
  4. Possess extensive technical depth in implementing Cloud Solutions (PaaS, IaaS).
  5. Excellent analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Appreciation of risk management, change management, and configuration management.
  7. Ability to provide objective and impartial technology, platform, tooling assessments and recommendations, ensure compatibility with strategic technology backlog at all times.
  8. Passionate about technology, and has interest in emerging tools, trends and techniques across the industry.
  9. Possess or displays the ability to learn multiple technologies and systems.
  10. Professional experience demonstrating the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and contractors, to prepare reports and to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.


  1. Experience architecting cloud solutions leveraging PaaS and SaaS offerings
  2. Freight or freight related industry experience
  3. Experience in building disaster recovery and business continuity strategies with regards to data systems



This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.




The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Continually speaking and hearing, giving and receiving directions. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 50 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
