Investigate, analyze and provide proper disposition of overage, shortage, salvage and R&U exceptions to ensure proper procedures have been followed.  Compile, analyze, and maintain cargo claim and OSD statistical reports.  Provide graphs and issue reports.  Provides support for Management to coordinate work flow and assignments for Admin staff.



  1. Investigate and analyze overage and high value shortage exceptions to determine disposition and/or location of distressed freight.
  2. Investigate and analyze salvage and R&U exceptions to determine liability, mitigate loss and provide disposition of distressed freight.
  3. Assist Loss Prevention Coordinators in providing direction and guidance to field OSD personnel.
  4. Monitor individual inventories and assigned SC locations.
  5. Compile, analyze, and maintain all cargo claim and OSD weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and graphs distributed to officer and management personnel.
  6. Responsible for on-line claim adjustment journaling to maintain accurate account of claim history files and any required voiding of issued checks.
  7. Perform all duties of Specialist I as required.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. General understanding of trucking industry.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Proficient PC skills.



  1. College Degree or 2 years’ experience in transportation.
    2. Advanced knowledge or MS Office applications.




This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.




The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
