JOB SUMMARY

 

On the job training program in the operational fundamentals of linehaul operations. Fully trained candidates could be transitioned into full time Coordinators if business need arises. This position is part-time and not benefit eligible. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Be trained to monitor and manage the repositioning of freight and drivers across the system to ensure terminals can effectively move freight.
  2. Learn to prepare and plan daily utilization of resources to ensure a consistent and efficient flow of freight through the network.
  3. Learn to investigate shipping issues to determine a solution to ensure freight can be moved in a timely manner.
  4. Learn and apply the proper use of processes and tools to effectively oversee efficient linehaul operations.
  5. Participate in daily meetings to communicate issues, deviation to the plan along with courses of action.
  6. Gain understanding of company policies and procedures.
  7. Gain exposure to linehaul operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Bachelors/Associates (or in progress) degree.
  2. Career interest in Transportation or Logistics
  3. Effective organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  4. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. This is a 24/7 operation. Must be flexible and willing to work any schedule.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Education or Military Background in Logistics or Transportation.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers.  Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
