JOB SUMMARY


This is a leadership position responsible for delivering technology innovation to the Sales & Marketing domain. Through close interaction with business and technology leadership, the Manager sets direction and defines roadmaps for supported products.  The Manager is responsible for coaching skilled, technical professionals to develop business/application solutions to meet customer needs.  This position coordinates technically complex projects primarily using CRM (Salesforce) to improve customer engagement and Transportation Management System solutions to optimize brokerage and residential services.  This includes disciplined definition of projects, applying resources to the most valuable efforts and continuous over-site ensuring desired business outcomes are achieved.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partner with key stakeholders to develop the roadmap for areas of responsibility, identify and recommend new solutions to meet priority business needs.
  2. Identify long and short-range projects/plans to drive improvements in areas of assigned responsibility; partner with IT leadership to align on key strategies and priorities.
  3. Drive lifecycle management of solutions from selection to implementation to currency upgrades and/or sunset/termination.
  4. Maintain current understanding of emerging technologies aligned to business needs.
  5. Drive projects to achieve goals/objectives ensuring quality and timely delivery within approved budget.
  6. Provide clear communication on approach, status, issues and risks on a regular basis to manage stakeholder expectations.
  7. Develop relationships with key vendors and create cost-efficient and comprehensive contracts that protect the company.
  8. Provide stable, available and operationally effective services and solutions.
  9. Seek customer feedback regularly to ensure services are efficient and effective; surface and identify repeat problems or service challenges. Craft and drive improvement plan to close gaps.
  10. Lead and grow a high-performance team by selecting high potential talent, training, coaching and providing developmental assignments.
  11. Participate in financial budgeting/planning processes.
  12. Manage actuals to budget and provide timely communication of budget exceptions and assist with plans to close gaps.
  13. Perform human resource management including interviewing, hiring new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising, rewarding and improving employee performance; and developing team members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in IT field of study or 7 or more years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  3. Experience managing application development teams.
  4. Strong command of technology to deliver business value and organizational transformation.
  5. Experience managing complex projects and demonstrated ability to achieve results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with Salesforce CRM.
  2. Experience with Transportation Management Systems – 3G, McLeod
  3. Transportation, 3PL and logistics industry knowledge.
  4. Customer/master data management experience.
  5. Data analytics and business intelligence experience.
  6. Experience managing Agile-based development teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
