JOB SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a Business Analyst who is motivated to advance a company’s business processes by providing innovative technical solutions to business problem and improving bottom line with forward-thinking new technologies.

Responsibilities will include interaction with the business stakeholders and translation of the business needs into technical requirements and designs. Working closely with the key organizational stakeholders and identifying strategic outcomes, transformation processes and business practices based upon industry best practices. Studying business functions and gathering information to determine operational objectives and identifying potential improvements for the current systems. Collaboration with the development teams and providing functional specification and business subject matter expertise.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  2. Participate in all project lifecycle phases from business requirements gathering through user acceptance testing
  3. Evaluate requirements from multiple sources and produce business requirements and functional specifications
  4. Propose systems’ improvements by researching and analyzing all aspects of existing business practices and procedures
  5. Design new business applications by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  6. Recommend controls by identifying problems
  7. Create direct channels of communication with business partners and software developers
  8. Identify business trends utilizing real data, compile analysis that’s delivered to business and IT partners
  9. Facilitate business stakeholder efforts to envision the future, providing objective expertise in informing possibilities and identifying changes needed to support future objectives and outcomes
  10. Facilitate stakeholders’ meetings and communication around decision making, conflict resolution and delivery of committed work goals, including scope or timeline changes
  11. Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, as well as creating, sizing, grooming and prioritizing project/product backlog
  12. Assist product owners with testing and field acceptation of the new capabilities
  13. Collaborate with developers on prototyping, troubleshooting, and usability aspects of the new technology solutions
  14. Participate in monitoring deliverables to ensure projects are on-time and within budget
  15. Drive automating, scaling and continuous improvement of business and internal processes
  16. Contribute to process improvement through team learnings and retrospectives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree specializing in computer science, IT, Business administration or equivalent work experience required.
  2. 7+ years’ in business and systems analysis
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills 
  6. Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects with attention to detail 
  7. Database Query management skills
  8. Strong knowledge of workflow development and business process engineering

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of the transportation industry and related business disciplines
  2. Working knowledge of Agile Scrum practices
  3. Experience using process modeling tools like Visio, Blueworks, etc.
  4. Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
  5. Advance SQL management and maintenance skills
  6. Hands on experience with JAVA, HTML5, GIT

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
