JOB SUMMARY

 

This is a leadership position responsible for managing technology resources related to reporting, business intelligence, and analytics. Through close interaction with IT and business leadership, the Manager ensures that the overall strategic vision and roadmap, business and technical plans are being implemented for the specific project or domain. This position coordinates multiple technically complex projects with high business impact. The Manager is responsible for coaching highly skilled, technical professionals to develop business solutions to meet customer’s needs. This includes thorough and disciplined definition of projects, adequately staffing those projects and continuous over-site to ensure that what is being delivered meets the business expectation. Manager must have strong business and leadership skills as well as enough experience with technology to understand: what is possible given current technology, how trends will affect the roadmap in the future, and how to communicate with business teams to ensure they understand the technology capabilities.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides leadership, direction, and day-to-day guidance for team members in support of organizational mission, vision, goals, and strategies. Establish goals and direction for direct reports and provide needed resources, training, leadership and performance feedback. Communicates company and department specific information to team members on a timely and regular basis.
  2. Partners with others to ensure that prioritized projects are adequately staffed. Provides input into the process to ensure that resources are being utilized appropriately.
  3. Manage the team budget within fiscal guidelines by controlling expenditures, capital investments and contractor expenses.
  4. Demonstrates and models excellent customer service. Demonstrates superior knowledge of the business drivers. Aligns key application capabilities/functionality to key business objectives. Works effectively with all organizational levels while proactively strengthening relationships with customers. Understands and relates business needs to team members and internal support groups. Ensures team demonstrates commitment to excellent customer service.
  5. Partners with customers to identify needs for solutions and services; reviews and ensures ongoing performance that meets service level agreements. Provides support in the selection, procurement, usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware. Assumes ownership of IT related customer-impacting events. Coordinates the efforts of personnel to ensure effective resolution of business issues and timely implementation of preventative actions; as well as frequent communication of status.
  6. Recruit and retain qualified employees. Effectively and accurately completes employee performance reviews and follows established guidelines for completion and delivery. Meets with subordinates to discuss performance progress and facilitates performance improvement discussions when needed to ensure standards are met. Challenge employees to develop and execute individual plans. Provides appropriate feedback, follow-up, direction, and resources as necessary for professional development and successful group execution.
  7. Stays abreast of technology trends and industry best practices. Proactively identifies and promotes opportunities to leverage technology, improve processes, reduce operating costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  8. Promote and ensure adherence to standards, methodologies, processes, and procedures. Participate in the development of standards, tools, methodologies, processes, and procedures across the organization.
  9. May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  2. Strong command of how technology brings value to an organization and how to deliver value.
  3. Seven (7) years of proven progressive performance in IT.
  4. Five (5) years of experience in managing the delivery of technical services.
  5. Previous project management experience in technical areas.
  6. Bachelor’s Degree in IT field of study or seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Microsoft BI (SQL Server).
  2. PowerBI/Tableau.
  3. Agile experience.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
