Field Operations & Operations Management



Responsible for all equipment maintenance activities of linehaul and city equipment for assigned area. Maintain a safe and reliable fleet of equipment while minimizing costs. Ensure employees and vendors work safely and follow all safety processes.



  1. Plan, organize, and coordinate Outside Maintenance (OMPO) activities and processes of linehaul and city equipment for multiple locations.
  2. Schedule equipment maintenance to coordinate with needs of operations for all assigned equipment.
  3. Ensure maintenance activities provide reliable, cost-effective, and driver acceptable equipment on a timely basis.
  4. Manage all equipment Preventative Maintenance schedules.
  5. Maintain cost control of maintenance expenditures at non-shop locations.
  6. Execute policies and reporting requirements. Hold vendors and terminal managers accountable to follow OMPO processes.
  7. Manage area vendors and suppliers via the OMPO process.
  8. Manage the tire process within assigned area, including inventory control and process compliance.
  9. Communicate and educate the end of line terminal managers/team how to properly report out of service equipment in MCMS. Coordinate daily maintenance activities at assigned facilities (linehaul and city) to ensure accurate reporting of out of service equipment.
  10. Communicate with end of line terminal managers/team and vendors to ensure equipment status and repair history are correctly reflected in MCMS.
  11. Monthly review of parts orders from key suppliers.

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in remotely managing outside maintenance vendors and parts suppliers.
  2. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  3. Demonstrated labor relations skills.
  4. Two (2) years supervisory experience in the transportation industry.
  5. Technical experience using Microsoft Office products.
  6. Technical experience in the repair processes of heavy-duty equipment.



  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Two (2) years’ experience managing a maintenance shop operation.



This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.



The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs. of supplies and materials is required.
