CDO Coordinator- Remote Opportunity

Field Operations & Operations Management



The CDO Coordinator will plan, implement, and monitor actions necessary for the timely movement of freight throughout the YRC Freight network to meet or exceed customer expectations for on-time delivery. Oversee the cost-effective movement, mode-mix and flow of loads and drivers from one point to another.  Responsible for handling the more complex issues within the YRC Freight linehaul network.



  1. Ensure on-time service goals are achieved by monitoring the linehaul system and implementing actions necessary for the timely and efficient movement of freight.
  2. Monitor and manage the repositioning of freight and drivers across the system to ensure terminals can effectively move freight.
  3. Count drivers and loads to ensure drivers, equipment and loads are available to move freight efficiently.
  4. Review freight flow patterns and implement actions necessary to minimize empty or partially loaded miles (including positioning extra shipments).
  5. Utilize forecasts to develop and implement 1-3 day operating plan to keep the network fluid.
  6. Monitor equipment availability and take action necessary to problem solve and maximize proper placement of equipment to meet business levels.
  7. Communicate with linehaul managers and terminals to best meet their shipping needs.
  8. Investigate shipping issues to determine a solution to ensure freight can be moved in a timely manner.
  9. Participate in daily meetings to communicate issues, deviations to the plan along with courses of action.

  1. High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
  2. Proven ability to think critically, analytically and problem solve.
  3. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Teams)
  5. Ability to travel up to 25% to the Field Resource Center.
  6. Ability to work both days and nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  7. Access to strong internet connection on a consistent basis.



  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field or equivalent operational experience.
  2. Experience in operations or linehaul.
  3. Complete knowledge and understanding of network operations.
  4. Experience working in logistics.



This job operates in both a professional office environment, as well as a remote “home” or “field” office location. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. A willingness to work both days and nights, weekends, and holidays is required.



The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
