Border Mgt Specialist II

Field Operations & Operations Management


The Border Management Specialist II will support the development of international business by providing administrative assistance to facilitate the efficient functioning of the border office. Monitor shipments through customs and process the current status of international clearance.


  1. Work with US Customs Brokers and Customers to ensure timely processing of Customs Entry (Pre-Arrival Processing System - PAPS).
  2. Monitor US Customs and Customs Brokerage websites to facilitate international crossing into the US to reduce shipment delay.
  3. Assist drivers with missing documents and enter delays into system to notify customers of border delays.
  4. Communicate with inter office terminals on border issues and opportunities.
  5. Provide support for inter company offices (Bonding of International Freight, International Hold Procedures/Process, FDA shipments, Special Commodities)
  6. Ensures compliance with government regulations.
  7. Work with Sales and Management to secure international business and sell our international services.

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Customer service experience.
  3. Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  4. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


  1. Three (2) years of experience with Cross Border Transportation.
  2. Knowledge of US Customs Paperwork and US Customs Brokers.
  3. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification.


This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.


The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
