JOB SUMMARY

 

Responsible for ensuring the technical direction of applications and solutions both within and across infrastructure silos that are strongly aligned with the business strategy.  This role collaborates with Architecture Team Members and Infrastructure Engineering to develop solutions to complex business needs and deliver, implement, and train operations teams on the solutions.  Responsible for supporting infrastructure engineers through the development of solutions including design, operations and support processes. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist with leading the overall Scripting and Automation initiatives within infrastructure.
  2. Assist in the development of road maps describing evolution of infrastructure technologies from current to future state
  3. Ensure solutions fit strategically in the overall infrastructure architecture and meet existing technology, application and business standards
  4. Perform analysis of current environment to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement; recommend solutions and collaborate with infrastructure engineers to develop processes to implement changes
  5. Remain current with technologies through research and learning.
  6. Design new or reconfigure existing technology solutions, architectures and processes as requirements and/or capabilities change.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management including communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related subject or equivalent experience.
  2. Six (6) years within IT Infrastructure.
  3. Two (2) or more years’ experience in both design and operations of Network, Storage, Compute, Security, Virtualization and Cloud systems.
  4. Possess extensive technical depth in at least one area of infrastructure listed above.
  5. One (1) year Automation/Scripting experience in any of the mentioned areas; VMware, Public Cloud, Cisco, Citrix, Citrix Netscaler, Python, PowerShell, PowerCLI, Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016, Active Directory, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint.
  6. Excellent analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  7. Appreciation of risk management, change management, and configuration management.
  8. Ability to provide objective and impartial technology, platform, tooling assessments and recommendations, ensures compatibility with strategic technology backlog at all times.
  9. Passionate about technology, and has interest in emerging tools, trends and techniques across the industry.
  10. Possess or display the ability to learn multiple technologies and systems.
  11. Professional experience demonstrating the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and contractors, to prepare reports and to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Experience in these areas would be preferred; VMware, Other Hypervisors, Citrix, Cisco networking, scrum/agile methodologies, NAS/SAN storage, Docker, Linux, Windows, CMDB

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Continually speaking and hearing, giving and receiving directions. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 50 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
