Administrative Assistant (2Nd Shift)




The Administrative Assistant is responsible for basic administrative tasks within Linehaul/Central Dispatch. This individual works closely within the Central Dispatch department assisting with administrative duties as assigned.



  1. Answering phone calls – Handling inbound calls from drivers, terminal operations personnel, as well as external customers/vendors.
  2. Communicating daily with third party transportation providers to coordinate schedules moving throughout the network.
  3. Communicating with terminal operations and central dispatch regarding purchased transportation lanes.
  4. Processing and resolving driver breakdowns and delays, issuing comchecks, performing driver audits, miscellaneous safety administrative support tasks.
  5. Computers and Data Entry – Utilizing company computer systems to accurately input data.
  6. Record keeping and imaging of documents into applicable driver files.
  7. Distribution and inventory of corporate lodging cards and EZ passes.
  8. Processes and audits COMDATA reports/fuel receipts.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1+ year of proven administrative experience
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Visio amongst other PC applications.
  4. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  6. High level of integrity as the position will have access to confidential information.



  1. Some college or college degree.
  2. Workers’ compensation or medical records experience.
  3. Two (2) years of administrative support experience.



This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.



The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
